Creating Successful Music Learning Experiences for All
The AMT team offers adapted and traditional music lessons for kids and adults individuals interested in developing skills in guitar, piano, percussion, voice, and music theory. Other instrument lessons may be available upon request.

Adapted Lessons

Adapted lessons are music lessons for neurodivergent learners to explore musical knowledge, build confidence, explore and express emotions, and support cognitive and motor abilities. While the goal of adapted music lessons is to develop music skills, as in traditional music lessons, our music therapists may also address and document progress on non-musical goals during music instruction.

The advantage of taking traditional music lessons through Annapolis Music Therapy is that instructors are dually trained both as music educators and music therapists, thus creating a safe and therapeutic environment that is beneficial when learning a musical instrument.
Traditional and adapted music lessons are available for all ages and music levels in a variety of styles and genres. No prior music experiences required!
Music Lessons
Annapolis Music Therapy provides a unique music learning experience focused on developing and maintaining a love for music. Our lessons focus on keeping students interested in learning using a student centered approach.

How are our lessons different?

-
We utilize multiple instruments (drums, shakers etc...) when teaching, allowing for variety and exploration.

-
We teach around the student's interest by creating custom sheet music, practice sheets, and visual aids.

-
We teach a wide variety of music skills including: improvisation, singing while playing, song writing, music technology etc...

Rather than focusing on standardized levels, Annapolis Music Therapy recognizes that benefits of music and strives to foster the student's interests as they learn. Preventing burnout and disinterest by allowing our students to become any type of musician they want to be.

Adult Music Lessons

Annapolis Music Therapy provides music lessons for adults and seniors. These sessions will focus more on interests, mental stimulations, fine motor functioning, and enjoyment!
